This is not my area of expertise but it does not stop me from stating the obvious, which is that exotic diseases and pandemics are bad, invasive pests can destroy crops and livelihoods, and climate change is real and the consequences are bigger and worse than we can imagine. Also, all these problems and many others are global problems and we need ongoing international cooperation to address them. Regrettably, the Trump Administration does not believe in international cooperation to solve big problems. It has pulled us out of international efforts like the Paris Climate Agreement and the World Health Organization, and has also cut or curtailed federal agencies like USAID and the CDC that address these life and death issues.
Sorry, I offer no solutions except to suggest that we put into office competent leaders who care about solving big international environmental and health issues.
