A beautiful May afternoon in NH, so of course I am thinking about war crimes.
The topic is how our dysfunctional relationship with Israel costs us money, gets in the way of achieving our objectives, destabilizes the region, leads to death and suffering on a massive scale, and undermines our basic values and the rule of law.
My immediate point is that peace in the Persian Gulf is tied to peace in Lebanon. Iran has made it a clear condition that it will not reopen Hormuz until Israel stops attacking Lebanon—but the topic is much bigger than just that.
